The Littlest Golfer’s Charitable Giving
Supporting Children, Families and Communities
At The Littlest Golfer, we believe golf not only builds strong bodies and minds, it also builds strong families and communities. We actively seek out opportunities to support organizations that improve lives, particularly children’s.
Founder and CEO Kris Wilson has been an active supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital since 1990. St. Jude is a cutting-edge medical treatment and research facility dedicated to treating children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases—regardless of their families’ ability to pay.
The Littlest Golfer sponsored the Eliada Charity Classic. This inaugural golf tournament raised more than $36,000 to support children and families in need through Eliada’s residential, child development, foster care, community support, and therapeutic recreation services. For more information, please visit www.eliada.org.
The Littlest Golfer sponsored Next Step Recovery’s second annual golf tournament. Next Step Recovery is a nonprofit transitional living program for adult males recovering from substance abuse. NSR helps men develop the life skills necessary to rebuild relationships that often include children who have been adversely affected by their parent’s addiction. Eliada Homes, Asheville NC
Foster home and day facility for at-risk youth and families in need.
They have a USGA-supported junior golf program that The Littlest Golfer helped kick off 2 years ago. (We don’t have a The First Tee chapter here in Asheville, but this program is similar and local).
GOLFNV has been the corporate sponsor for the first two annual golf charity classics that raised more than $50K for Eliada Homes and its programs for children.
Kids Fore Kids Foundation, Oviedo, FL
Founded by then 7-year-old Gavin Fitzgerald. A children’s golf tournament where children raise money for children’s charities—specifically the Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital.
Gavin was featured on the Golf Channel and even got to play with Arnold during his first tournament.
(Gavin and his foundation, which is trying to go national, would also make a great feature!)
For the second tournament held this past September, GOLFNV sponsored a child golfer, was a corporate sponsor for the tournament, and outfitted Gavin and another child player, Lexie Elliott, daughter of Brendon Elliott’s Little Linksters program in Winter Park, FL.) We also donated prizes for the auction.
